Practitioners can create road safety role play with three community costumes, five double-sided traffic signs, eight orange traffic cones and a zebra crossing mat. Children can become a construction worker, crossing patrol or traffic police officer, building confidence through imaginative scenarios while developing communication, teamwork and road awareness.
The resources support EYFS Communication and Language as children take on roles, discuss road awareness and listen to ideas. They also link with Expressive Arts and Design, as children represent familiar community roles through pretend play and collaborative scenarios.
